What data do we collect?

Refugease collects the following data:

  • E-receipts for items purchased in store provided by SquareUp: email address or phone number & last four digits of card used

  • Furniture collections and delivery (in store and online): name, delivery address and phone number

  • Newsletter email sign-up (via our website): name & email address

  • Online purchases in our online aid shop or statement shop via our website: name, email address and delivery/billing address.

  • Volunteer- Sign up process: Full name, ID, home address, phone number and email address

  • Donations:

  • Donorbox: name and email address, address and phone number

  • JustGiving: name and email address

  • Facebook Donations: name and email address

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide Refugease with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Sign up online for email updates, donate to us, or purchase items from our online aid or statement shop.

  • Sign up to volunteer with us. 

  • Book furniture deliveries or collections.

  • Ask for a text or email receipt in our stores.

  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.

How will we use your data?

Refugease collects your data so that we can:

  • Send e-receipts from our SquareUp paypoints 

  • Enable furniture collections and deliveries

  • Send emails (offers, campaigns, updates) to those who granted us permission by checking the relevant box online

  • Contact volunteers with organisational updates and weekly rota, via email or Whatsapp groups

  • Successfully vet and onboard new volunteers

  • Contact volunteers for additional help on an ad hoc basis 

  • Bank account details to make payments to staff and contractors

How do we store your data?

Refugease securely stores your data on online servers. We will keep your data for the following time periods:

  • Furniture deliveries and collections - 1 year (unless opted in to receive email updates)

  • E-receipts for items purchased in store provided by SquareUp - 3 years

  • Newsletter email sign-up - indefinitely unless you choose to unsubscribe

  • Online purchases in our online aid shop or statement shop via our website - 3 years

  • Volunteer- Sign up process - indefinitely until your volunteering ceases

  • Online donations - 3 years

Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by erasing it from our online server.

Marketing

Refugease would like to send you information about campaigns and activities of ours that we think you might like. If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date.

You have the right at any time to stop Refugease from contacting you for marketing purposes.

Refugease would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request Refugease for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
